- Receives the protocol families sts_metadata.ts advertises, for the drift check between the two metadata pages.
  
  Anything but an array is ignored and logged under STS-ADMIN-0595.
  Parameters
  - protocols: any
    the PROTOCOLS cards of sts_metadata.ts
  Returns void
